Internet safety is very important to us.

Through blogging, WOW students are provided the opportunity to learn about safe internet procedures in a moderated manner.

Before commenting on anything, ask yourself:

  1. Would I be happy for my Mum or my Grandma to read this?

  2. Could it hurt anyone?

  3. Will I regret putting it here in 1 month?

  4. Does it only include my first name?

In addition, the following guidelines have been established to ensure the safety of our students when blogging:

  • Students’ first names, work and school name MAY be included on the blog.
  • Students’ surnames, address, email address, phone number, specific plans, date of birth and other personal information WILL NOT be included on the blog.
  • Comments written by students or parents must be approved by WOW teachers before they are published on the blog. Inappropriate or sloppy comments will not be approved.
  • All comments must use first names only.
  • Parents who leave comments are asked to use their first name only so as not to identify their child i.e. “Jane – Sally’s mum”
  • All comments must be polite, respectful and courteous
  • Parents are asked to proofread comments students write at home
  • Always write in full sentences and words – no ‘text talk’ please

If you find that any of these guidelines have been overlooked or want to ask a question about the blog, please contact Mrs Braid.
